Do You Love Your Bike Saddle?
Be honest, do you love your bike saddle? After trying my first ever Cobb Cycling Saddle, I can finally say that I love my saddle, the VFlow Max. Until 1 month ago, I would always tell myself that I was not picky when it came to saddles, as long as it had a slit in the middle. I couldn’t be picky because I had not found one that I honestly felt completely comfortable riding for long periods of time, especially in the aero position.
At the Dallas ITU Pan American Cup, I put the VFlow Max to the ultimate test--a 40km ride in a bathing suit, primarily riding in the aero position. It passed with flying colors. Then, a few days ago, I rode 75 miles and found my body wanted to stay in the aero position because the saddle felt so darn comfortable. Also, because I am more comfortable, I feel that I am producing more power.

The truth is that whenever someone asked me about saddle issues, I always recommended Cobb saddles, but I had never ridden a Cobb saddle myself. However, I had thoroughly read his website and knew John was from Texas, so CLEARLY he had a GREAT product ;-) Actually, from what I researched, I always knew if I could pick any saddle to try, it would be a Cobb saddle. But, I continued to make do with less than ideal saddles, using whatever someone would give me, praying it would be the saddle I’d fall in love with. Thank God, 1 month ago super star triathlete (and person), Rebekah Keat, gave me a VFlow Max to try.
If you’re not honestly comfortable on your saddle, check out John’s website. It’s easy to see his passion for helping athletes of all levels. You have nothing to lose because he offers a 180-day comfort guarantee, a free toolkit, and free ground shipping. I should have taken advantage of this a LONG time ago, and I now realize there is such a thing as truly being comfortable on a bike saddle, even when in the aero position for extended periods of time! Every single person I have recommended a Cobb saddle to has reported back, saying they love the saddle and the customer service was awesome!
If you’re interested, I found a great breakdown of some of the Cobb Cycling product line here: http://university.tri-sports.com/2010/10/21/cobb-cycling-saddles/ If you are not in love with your saddle, try a Cobb saddle. If you’re not sure which saddle to begin with, call them and they’ll help you decide. I wasn’t sure what saddle to try, which is partly why I kept making do with what I had...bad decision. Thankfully, Rebekah gave me the saddle she thought would be best to try, based on her experience and knowledge, and she certainly nailed it!
